where is journalism going?

I think that journalism is becoming more saturated, as anyone can be a journalist in today's society. As we discussed in class, yes, there are early adopters of the internet by news sources, and journalists were the people we would get our information from. But in present times, most people find their news from scrolling through social media. I can't think of the last time I watched the news on the TV. There is this idea though, that we do have more access to news and we are getting it quick, and how anyone can tell you what is going on, journalists have become a dying breed. Most people think, "Why to wait for a journalist when a stranger walking down the street records the situation and puts it on twitter?" Would rather have that stranger be the journalist for them. We take in so much information so quickly that we would forget about an event that had happened the week prior. Being able to get information and news in the palm of your hands, not having to wait for a broadcast hours later or a news article the next day. No one these days care about who gives out the information, the source. That is also the reason why the mass public takes everything on the internet to be true, hence "fake news". There will be less of those looking to ask for questions because there is someone probably discussing it over social media as I type this post out.
